If you have an existing prescription from a ophthalmologist or want to use the parameters from your original correction, it is not a problem to accommodate you. The best solution is the eye test here at Alta. Our pride is the aberometric device for eye measurement from Rodenstock and the automatic phoropter. We can use our Zeiss perimeter,  Zeiss OCT and non mydriatic camera to check for abnormalities.

"Repairs of metal frames have traditionally been carried out in optical shops by soldering with silver solder, either electrically or with gas. We have both devices in our company. The use of an oxygen x butane or oxygen x acetylene soldering iron has several disadvantages. The flame, although relatively hot and concentrated, burns the surroundings of the soldered part and cannot be used to solder titanium, aluminum, beta titanium, cobalt, and other types of metals. Without a protective atmosphere, the metals are immediately covered with oxides, and the welds do not hold.

"The use of NdYag laser is advantageous because it allows for very precise selection of laser pulse energy in the range of 1-50 W, pulse frequency, and optical beam width in the range of 0.2mm to 2.00 mm. The work is carried out in a protective helium atmosphere, and the operator works under a stereo microscope. Laser welding is so precise that we can weld a broken guitar E string with it.

In the past, some optical companies used the services of dental technicians, who focused on more lucrative welding of titanium frames. Soldering of common monel was done in optical workshops with a flame or electrically using silver solder with borax.

Alta s.r.o. is the first optical lab in the Czech Republic to solder all orders with NdYag laser. The principle of NdYag laser operation: The Yttrium Garnet crystal Nd:Y3Al5O12 is doped with triply ionized Neodymium. The neodymium molecule is similar in size to the yttrium molecule and occupies about 1 percent of the volume in the garnet. In our device, the YAG is optically pumped by a xenon flash lamp. Our laser operates at a frequency of 1064 nm, i.e., in the infrared region in Q-switched mode. The optical switch located in the resonator cavity waits for the maximum population inversion in the neodymium ions before opening. The light wave propagating through the cavity depopulates the excited laser medium precisely when the maximum population inversion occurs.

For welding various types of beta-titanium, we have at least 40 types of welding wires with different alloy contents. We cooperate with research institutes, where we have spectral analysis of materials used in optical optics carried out, which facilitates the selection of solder.
